WHO: Everyone is welcome – history buffs, families, senior citizens, recreational bicycle riders, weekend warriors and those just wanting to check out the nature trails – there is something for everyone.
WHAT: offering 12, 25 and Metric Century (62 miles) bike rides on the Plantersville Scenic Byway – done at your leisure through beautiful historical natural settings. The area offers numerous plantations, Civil War artifacts and a rich cultural narrative. The Tour de Plantersville starts and ends at our Cultural Festival with food, music, dance, children’s activities, and vendors.

WHERE: Plantersville Elementary School, 1668 Exodus Drive, Plantersville, SC
WHY: It is our hope that this event unites the community and raises awareness of The Village Group’s mission. The Mission of The Village Group is to equip youth with the skills to build a sustainable community by focusing on college and career readiness, cultural education, and economic development.
Plantersville Summer Academy & Summer Bridge Programs in 2023:
- 240 Scholars
- Of those students, all scholars in grades 2nd through 8th & and up made gains falling within 90-100% of meeting their target in math and reading.
- When surveyed “What was the best part of the Academy? ” students wrote in the following responses: field trips, dinner, cooking, sculpturing, coding, help with math, and making friends.
- 100% of parents responded that they would recommend the Plantersville Summer Academy to other parents again in 2023.
