Plantersville Summer Academy & Summer Bridge Programs Starting date pushed back due to COVID-19
Plans are underway for year 12 of 2020 Plantersville Summer Academy (PSA), which commences on Monday June 8. Last year we had an enrollment of 261 students with a waiting list and this year we expect to have the same or slightly larger group based on the inquiries that have had thus for parents wanting to enroll their children. In addition to academics, last year we also provide many enrichment field trips such as:
- Swimming and basketball camp, off site
- Local Museums visit
- National Museum of African American History & Culture Washington DC
- Fun stuff like local amusement parks, water splash, skating, bowling
- Movie and theatrical performances
- Environmental – Wildlife Refuges
We are also extremely grateful to Georgetown County School District, as they, and Plantersville Elementary School have been amazing partners in letting us use their facilities to provide educational and enrichment services for our children.
While our children are learning in a fun and safe environment, it would be difficult to do without the financial support of dedicated individuals and community partners. We are truly grateful for their financial donations to support this program and help us move our children into a brighter future. Would you like to make a donation or volunteer?
