Titilayo Akinwumi joins The Village Group

Plantersville, SC The Village Group is pleased to announce that, Titilayo Akinwumi, MBA has accepted the position of Operations Manager with The Village Group, effective March 30, 2022.  This position reports to the Executive Director, Ray C. Funnye.  Titilayo will serve as our principal engagement strategist by planning, managing and executing day-to-day logistics affairs of The Village Group. 

Ms. Akinwumi is a Nigerian American, reared by her late grandparents Claude and Viola Evans of the Pee Dee community, of Georgetown County.  After graduating from Carvers Bay High School, she attended Coastal Carolina University, earning her Bachelor of Science.  She expanded her education by attaining her MBA at Webster University.

Prior to joining The Village Group, Titilayo worked for over ten years in various rolls in Business Management and Finance.  As the Operations Manager, Titilayo will oversee the day-to-day operation of the organization, execute logistics for the various programs, and provide support services to the Executive Director and Executive team.

The Village Group’s mission is to serve as a bridge in Georgetown County for Youth and their families toward education, college, and career readiness to make positive changes in the lives and develop a sense of urgency, identity, and self-value resulting in a more resilient and sustainable community.
