The Community Enrichment Grant is issued to South Carolina nonprofits who implement best practices to address the root causes of poverty.

“Our Community Enrichment grantee partners go beyond the expectation of assisting people who experience poverty – they work to interrupt the cycle of poverty altogether. The Foundation applauds their work to address the root causes of poverty in their respective communities,” said Tom Keith, president of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.

The mission of The Village Group is to serve as a conduit for the people working to make positive changes in the lives of children, which cultivates a better community as a whole. The grant from Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina will fund programming geared toward academic success and career planning.

“This is our second year receiving a grant from Sisters of Charity Foundation, and we look forward to using these funds to make a difference in children’s lives,” said Ray Funnye, Executive Director.

This year’s Community Enrichment grant recipients serve 27 South Carolina counties, and several of these nonprofits provide services across the state.
