Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina visits Plantersville Summer Academy for Aerospace Week


Plantersville, SC Plantersville Summer Academy (PSA) is pleased to announce the arrival of South Carolina’s Lieutenant Governor, Pamela S. Evette during Aerospace Week on June 21st. Lt. Governor Evette, along with other local government officials will be visiting The Village Group to learn about the multitude of programs provided during our Summer Academy and what will take place during Aerospace Week. 

“We are pleased to have Lt. Governor Pamela Evette accept our invitation to visit Plantersville Summer Academy and experience firsthand the evidence-based BellXcel curriculum offered to students. BellXcel Summer is a nationally recognized, evidence-based, holistic learning experience blending academics with enrichment, social and emotional skill development, and community engagements. BellXcel Summer is aligned to academic standards and supports our program in monitoring student growth. The goal is to expose our children to as many academic and enrichment programs allotted to them during this phase of the lifelong experience,” stated Executive Director Ray Funnye. 

For 4 full days a week, the program provides classroom instruction in preparation for the grade the scholar will be entering in the fall by certified teachers for the early portion of the day. The afternoon will be focused on experiential activities based on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM), field trips, and guest speakers along with 3 nutritious meals/snacks. “This year we are excited to be offering several new programs and activities for our scholars,” stated Mr. Funnye.
