Enrollment is Now Open for The Village Group’s Summer Education Programs

GEORGETOWN, SC — The Village Group is excited to announce that registration for the Plantersville Summer Academy and Summer Bridge Programs is now open.
Plantersville Summer Academy is an all-encompassing six-week program that prepares students entering K-9th grade for the start of the school year.
Programs begin Tuesday, June 2, 2026, and run for six weeks from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Plantersville Elementary School (1668 Exodus Drive, Georgetown, S.C.).
Families are encouraged to apply early as enrollment is limited, and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is available online here: http://www.thevillagegroup.org/psa-registration
Who Can Attend?
The Plantersville Summer Academy is made possible through a partnership with the Georgetown County School District and any student in grades K – 9 can attend.
What is Included?

Certified teachers, following the nationally recognized BellXcel curriculum, focus on strengthening literacy and mathematics skills while making learning an adventure through hands-on STEM experiences. Optional field trips have included visits to water parks, historical sites, theaters, museums, local businesses, and more.
In addition to academics and experiential activities, students receive three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack).
What is the Purpose and Impact?
Helping prevent the “summer slide” among students in our community and keeping them engaged in healthy, fun activities are at the core of The Village Group’s summer programs’ mission. In 2025, 253 students were served. The average math improvement was a two-month gain. The average literacy improvement was a one-month gain.
“I have seen my kids grow so much through the program,” said a mother of two children who have participated. “My once-shy first grader has turned into an outgoing, eager sixth grader who’s ready to try new things.”
What is the Cost?
The cost for the six-week program for in-county residents is $300 per child, with a $40 non-refundable registration fee.
For students attending schools outside of Georgetown County School District, the tuition for the six-week program is $325 per child, with a $50 non-refundable registration
Field trips are optional and not included in tuition fees.
