By continuously monitoring the results from our summer academy, we realized that some students would benefit from a year-round program that runs during the school year.
In early 2017, the Plantersville Enrichment Program was born. An average enrollment of 67 student K-5 receive remedial education and academic enrichment at Plantersville Elementary School.
Students benefit from tutoring, homework assistance, recreation, character education, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), mentoring, entrepreneurship experiences, and nutritious after-school snacks. Certified teachers support the students along with teachers aids, bus drivers, food services, environmental control personnel and volunteers.
Parents are often invited to participate in the afterschool program, such as using a portable planetarium for a Sky Theatre Experience offered by Dr. Jean French, Computing Science Department Chair at Coastal Carolina University.
