Metric Century Ride joins 12 and 25 mile ride options

PLANTERSVILLE, South Carolina – The 3rd Annual Tour de Plantersville is expanding – now offering a Metric Century ride (62 miles) in addition to 12 and 25 mile bicycle excursions down the only scenic Byway in Northeastern South Carolina, capturing its rich rice farming history and explores various Colonial-era landmarks. The Dirleton Plantation-Samworth Wildlife Management Area is located along this stretch of byway and offers a chance to see some of the region’s wildlife in its natural habitat.

There will be planned rest stops along the route and each historical site visited will have volunteer docents to introduce riders to the history of the property. Tour organizers have arranged for riders to experience special access on some of the select historical plantations along the Pee Dee River.
